There is normally no content in /etc/apt/sources.list.d/
Save the file elsewhere and then delete it in /etc/apt/sources.list.d/
sudo synatic wont work. (SOLVED)

Be very careful when you add repositories to sources.list
Do it only for reputable sites and comment them (##) out when you're done
It can be done from Synaptic or simply by editing manually - sudo your text editor and edit
