Mint KDE Ver. 13 32-bit. Bought a late model Brother inkjet. Installed the usual LPR & CUPS drivers and the printer came up worked fine with most apps. Gimp Gutenprint seems to be a different animal. At this point I'm trying to understand the philosophy behind Gutenprint and why it does not (can not?) apparently use valid and working system wide printer definition/driver data for Gimp.
Up to this point, even though everything else in Mint seems to be working fine printer wise, Gimp/Gutenprint wants/needs to do it's own thing? Can someone explain the Gutenprint animal relative to the latest Mint releases and system settings?
Thank You.
