How to delete Linux Mint installation?

Hello all,

I am running a Linux Mint 13 64-bit laptop and I would like to delete the whole hard drive and convert it to NTFS file system so I can finally install Windows 7 on my machine.

How can I do this?

I don't know why you'd want to do that why not dual boot if you have to have windows,
in any event you should be able to just put the windows install disk in and it will reformat the drive for you.
or you can use GParted an delete the current partitions and add new ntfs partitions.
I believe gparted is on the mint live CD if not it can be downloaded from here

I would actually prefer to dual boot but I am not sure how. Right now I already dual boot with Mint and Ubuntu. My Ubuntu size is around 50GB, I would like to replace this partition with Windows 7.
When I load the Windows 7 disk it says that I can't install there because it is a different file system, and it doesn't even enable me the edit and modify options of the installer.
Would you recommend that I use the Disk Utility for formatting? and if I do so will my GRUB loader stay where it is?

When you install Windows it will overwrite the MBR so if your grub is in the MBR it will be erased.

Windows always wants to think it's the only O.S. on your machine.

You use a live dvd to use gparted to delete the Ubuntu partition and create a new partition with the freespace formatting it as NTFS but it could come with risks like you having to repair Grub.

You could remove both partitions with a LiveCD like GParted, and then create one NTFS partition with the free space. Then you should be able to install Windows there.
