i have a HP DV6-6157TX laptop whith these specification:
2.4 GHz Intel Core i5-2430M i guess it's sandy bridge
Intel HD 3000 or maybe 4000
ATI HD 6770M
2GB DDR3 Ram
I have tried Linux Mint 13 and 14 Both 32 and 64Bit but my cpu is always hot ( over 60 C) even that i am not doing anything special but cpu usage is less 10%!
after opening few tabs in firefox cpu temprature is 70C+ and it makes me scared of hardware damage
although i should mention that i only tried them with live usb ( of course i don't wanna install them with temperature issue)
I checked forums and i found out its kinda a kernel problem that doesn't have anything to do with mint or mate or ...
some people are saying kernel 3.8 or 3.7 or Liquorix kernel can handle sandy bridge chips. and as i said, i am just a beginner, i don't want to read a a lot of documents to learn how to install a new kernel and at the end my cpu fan screams again
so please give me 100% solution because windows 7 got really boring and tiring to me, i wanna try something new
