I'm running Mint xfce 13 from a DVD on an Acer Aspire 5000 laptop.
If I use a cat5 cable from the modem/router, the connection to the internet happens automatically.
I need to be able to connect wirelessly. The Cisco router is Wifi enabled and is working for other devices.
I have the router password. I need help connecting to the wireless network.

Re: not connecting wirelessly
Your laptop use a 802.11b/g wireless LAN (Broadcom BCM4318 [AirForce One 54g] 802.11g wireless LAN controller (rev 02); it works with b43 driver;
It works when a distro is installed, not sure running LiveDVD...
Code: Select all
sudo apt-get install b43-fwcutter
sudo apt-get install firmware-b43-installer
Samsung Odyssey, Octa-core, i5 9300H, Geforce GTX 1650, 16GB RAM, SSD SAMSUNG NVMe 500GB
