Greetings to everyone,
My name is Pete and I finally said goodbye to Windows yesterday. I tried out Fedora on my laptop two days ago and started exploring the Linux community, ideology etc. at large and if you will excuse the crude reference 'It felt like I had been unplugged from the Matrix'.
Linux has a huge advantage for new users with the Live CD approach. After trying out Mint I decided to replace Fedora and put it on all my home machines. I enjoy being like a kid again figuring out how things work and getting used to the new system. However, I was also impressed at just how well everything runs straight out of the box on mint.
Thanks for reading this far past my ramblings A big thank you to the mint community and devs for doing such great work and helping to preserve internet freedom.
Best Wishes,
Pete.

Hi Pete, welcome to Linux Mint
Re: Unplugged frrom the Matrix
Thanks for the warm welcome! And what a great first post - I just spotted my spelling mistake in the title.
Pete.
Pete.
Re: Unplugged frrom the Matrix
That obviously was a glitch in the Matrix
Re: Unplugged frrom the Matrix
I think so. And I noticed less windows in my apartment all of a sudden... (couldn't resist sorry!).

Welcome to the Mint Forums, Pete. One word of advice. If you see an MS "agent", do like we do and run.
