[SOLVED]Make nemo default file manager after UP6 install

Postby Mr. Pants on Fri Dec 28, 2012 8:33 pm

I've searched a bit, hopefully I didn't overlook the answer ;)

After UP6 installed successfully, I see that nemo was also installed. Which is great btw :D My question is how do I make it the default file manager? is is as east as removing Nautilus and a reboot maybe?
I poked around the system/preferences sections but did not see a "choose preferred application" menu.

thanks in advance and great work everyone :D

There was an option where you add to check "let Nemo handle the desktop" in cinnamon settings but can find it anymore.
Just uninstall Nautilus and see what happens ;)

sorry for the major delay for updating this. Removing nautilus was the correct thing to do. just remove and reboot and all is good :D

I found myself the blog post below very useful, because even the full purge + reinstall of nemo didn't set it up as default file manager...
