'Update Pack Info' button unresponsive

I just updated to 3.2.0-4-amd64.
When doing so, I discovered that the mintUpdate 'Update Pack Info' button is unresponsive. It changes color when clicked, but does not open the info window.

1. Any thoughts on how to get the button to do it's thing?
2. Is there another way via the console to see the information that should be displayed in the update window?

I also had several 'Failed to fetch...' errors, but that's another issue.

actually i believe that both issues are related: the update pack info is retrieved from the servers as you press the button, if you're having problems updating or experiencing slowness it might "freeze" waiting for the info.
in this topic viewtopic.php?f=90&t=122213 you'll get the needed info to change to a faster server

I did the mint-choose-debian-mirror thing. /etc/apt/sources list now shows:

Went back to mintUpdate and did a refresh. Several packages failed to be fetched:

Some index files failed to download. They have been ignored, or old ones used instead.

I also noticed that

failed, as seen when 'Show for individual files' was selected during the downloading process. However, mintUpdate indicates 'Your system is up to date'.
Where do I go from here???

mint-choose-debian-mirrors picks the best mirror for the 3 debian repos in your sources.list, the errors you are seeing are from packages.linuxmint repo, to pick a mirror for that repo you have to follow xenopeek's topic that i linked above

[There were no mirrors in US, so I chose the one in Canada.] mintUpdate refresh was significantly faster and no 'Failed to fetch...' errors encountered and shows 'Your system is up to date'. So, I guess all is well except the 'Update Pack Info' button is still unresponsive.
