I like the LightDM unity greeter and want to replace MDM with LightDM to use that greeter, but I have a couple of questions about it.
1. I'd like to change the position of the login dialog to fit my background wallpaper better. How can I do this?
2. Is there a repository of alternative LightDM greeters somewhere?
3. MDM flickers to a black screen between login and bringing up the Cinnamon desktop. If LightDM has the same issue, is there anything I can do to fix it?
Thanks in advance. I'm using Linuxmint Cinnamon 14.

Re: LightDM Greeter Questions
I made up a guide for myself to remaster Linux mint 13 mate. There is a section on replacing MDM with lightDM and customizing it.
I never moved the login box position, but you can see in the config file where you can do it.

Re: LightDM Greeter Questions
Wow. Great guide. Thanks for sharing it. I don't see anything in the com.canonical.unity-greeter.gschema.xml file that addresses positioning of the dialog box, though. Google is no help. The only post I've found to address it simply says you have to make your own greeter to move the box. If I could find out which files to modify I would do that, but I've looked at all the files in the tar ball without finding anything that clearly addresses position of the dialog box.
Re: LightDM Greeter Questions
I did a few Google searches and it looks like the Login box is not movable. Sorry.

Re: LightDM Greeter Questions
Follow up question:
Is it possible to make LightDM handle the lock-screen as well as the session log-in screen? Right now it seems to only be active for the initial login for a session, but if I am resuming a suspended session it seems to fall back to the screen that I recognize from at least Mint 10.

Re: LightDM Greeter Questions
Yeah it's just for the login screen. The lock screen is sperate with its own settings. The lock screen will go back to lightdm if you tell it to switch users, maybe there is a way to have it just go there every time. I'll look into it reply back if I find anything.
