Mint 13 does not boot after installation

yes you can change the time out line and it should work, don't forget to update-grub after for it to take affect.

and I would start a new thread about the connection problem I don't know much about the Realtek stuff so perhaps someone else will chime in.

search the forum first though as it's likely some else has already posted a similar problem and gotten it fixed.
