eth0 going down every 3-4 days (NetworkManager)

Postby FNietzsche97 on Tue Jan 15, 2013 6:00 pm

Hi Community,

my first post and my first problem.

Topic says it all, I'm online and it's not possible to restart/ reconnect the networkmanager, firefox does not open a site. I've to restart the pc and to restart the router as well. If the problem occurs wireless is working.

If I restart the pc the problem still exists, networkmanager says "not connected".

I'm using Mint14, Xfce.

My network-card
lspci | egrep -i --color 'network|ethernet'
Code: Select all
00:07.0 Bridge: NVIDIA Corporation MCP61 Ethernet (rev a2)

Driver
ethtool -i eth0
Code: Select all
driver: forcedeth
version: 0.64
firmware-version:
bus-info: 0000:00:07.0
supports-statistics: yes
supports-test: yes
supports-eeprom-access: no
supports-register-dump: yes
supports-priv-flags: no

/etc/network/interfaces
Code: Select all
# interfaces(5) file used by ifup(8) and ifdown(8)
auto lo
iface lo inet loopback

I've had this problem on fedora and arch as well, changing to wicd does not help, IPv6 is disabled.

TIA
