Did you fix it? I'd love to help but I don't even know which Linux distro you have installed, which desktop, what hardware you are running the software on. This just isn't enough info. I think if you learn a few of the important Linux terminal comands, and write them down in a notebook, such as lshw ( list hardware ) that would help. When I first installed Linux in July 2012, I knew nothing, but I ran across important Linux comands to provide info about my entire system. I ran the comands and copied and pasted the output as a text file to my desktop folder. If I run into a problem, at least I have a few info files to post to this forum.
