connecting xoom to laptop via usb does not work

Postby UeB on Tue Jan 15, 2013 7:27 pm

Hallo,

I have a motorolla xoom and want to connect to to my laptop via usb. The laptop is running Lunux Mint 12.10.

Sadly this android device (running Android 4.0.4) is not a usb mass storage device but instead uses this MTP stuff.

The packages mtpfs, libmtp-common, libmtp-runtime and libmtp9 are installed. And when I plug in the xoom I get an MZ600 icon on my desktop but when I open it the file brower opens showing an empty MZ600 and after a few secons it says:

"Sorry, could not display all the contents of "MZ600": Timeout was reached"

When I tried to copy a file onto the xoom it said:
Error writing file: -108: No such file or directory

I already activated the USB-Debugging mode on the Xoom as this was recomended in some internet forums about the topic

has anybody an idea what I could try to fix this?

thanks in advance and kind regards
