Which version of Mint are you running?
Probably at least you need to install the Proprietary driver for nVidia which can be found in Additional Driver. Normally, Additional driver can be found as a regular menu entry, but under Mint14 (i run Mint14+Cinnamon) the Additional Driver section can be found under Software Sources. So, tell us which version you're running.

you have cinnamon
if you follow nomko's steps above you should see nvidia drivers being offered

but under Mint14 (i run Mint14+Cinnamon) the Additional Driver section can be found under Software Sources.

You have to select the top one, the nvidia-current.
