lost DESKTOP panels and Menu button, icons

Postby dduran1210 on Sun Jan 20, 2013 12:59 pm

Hello,

Last thing i did yesterday was download and change desktop backgrounds. Everything worked fine. Shutdown for the nite.

Now I boot up and all I have on the desktop are
Computer
home
cd drive

Nevermind, looks like this is one of those "WE DON'T HAVE A CLUE" posts.

Time to go try a different distro.

thanks

Actually panels disappearing happens to all DE for some users time to time. Maybe this will fix the issue for you.

I downloaded an add-on for gnome by mistake and ended up losing panels, icons, etc..

what happened was my seession on login was something else besides Mate. I switched back to Mate and everything was restored.
