I looked everywhere and I can't find information on this. I simply want to change the white background (behind all my icons inside a nemo window) to a charcoal (or any color for that matter). I've seen the theme changer that give you like 4 options but none of those are what I want. I just want the background color changed... nothing else. Thanks in advance for any info!
Oh.. and I'm using mint 14 with Nemo 1.1.2.

Re: How do I change the window color in Nemo
Hi,
You can install dconf-tools from Software Manager and experiment with this:
http://askubuntu.com/questions/65759/ho ... lus-window
I just changed org.gnome.desktop.interface > gtk-color-scheme
I put base_color:#abc5d7 in the line to get this effect -
So it doesn't just change nemo's window background colour, it does affect eg. input boxes as well, so font colour might then be a problem depending on
the background colour you choose.
This was in LM14 Cinnamon, Nemo 1.1.2.

Re: How do I change the window color in Nemo
Thank you caribriz, I was wondering the same thing.
Mint Cinnamon 20.1
Re: How do I change the window color in Nemo
Perfect! I already had dconf installed (that's what fixed my alt key for all my programs). Thanks dude!
Re: [SOLVED]How do I change the window color in Nemo
So how do you change the font color?
Re: [SOLVED]How do I change the window color in Nemo
Nevermind.. I figured it out. In the same gtk-color-scheme, you can state the text color with text_color. So mine reads base_color:gray8;text_color:gray80.. which does exactly what I wanted.
Re: [SOLVED]How do I change the window color in Nemo
Glad you got it tweaked to your satisfaction
And thanks for posting the text_color fix - I didn't know how to do it
Edit: I've been experimenting with this some more.
If interested in a "cheats" way to change nemo's sidepane colour - check this thread:
Customize nemo?
