Cinnamon proposed as default fedora desktop

For some reason it's all over the Linux blogosphere today (and yesterday) that Cinnamon has been proposed as the main "desktop" in fedora 19. Maybe some fedora users can enlighten the matter but I don't understand the newsworthyness unless the proposal was put forth by a main developer. Anyway, good press for Cinnamon

Just the standard news cycle as was mentioned on Linux Action Show about news blogs popping up on Fedora 19 plans already.
Think they want people to forget about the installer fiasco of 18.

If this is true, then this is good news! However, if this is just a rumour then we should hold back our horses before getting to excited. as we all know, most rumours are told by bus drivers since they hear almost everything in their busses...

But if the developers of fedora decide to use Cinnamon, then this would be a great compliment for the Cinnamon development team. And it also means that others are looking at Cinnamon as a serious desktop environment for the Gnome3 shell. Let's hope for the best!

I guess things get a bit too quiet in the Linux world when Canonical hasn't made a daft decision in weeks.
