If i recall correctly, Pidgin does not yet support webcam use. Try aMSN instead.

Pidgin does not support video or voice chat. You can try aMSN, but I don't like it, it is fugly and more or less a clone of MSN, so I live without video and sound chat..

I agree with Magnus :D, amsn sure doesn't win any aesthetics awards. There's always Skype, I don't use it but I don't think MSN profiles work with it.

I think desktop-based distro's should start improving the webcam support, maybe things have changed, but last time I got a webcam working it looked so bad it was unusable IMO.

BTW, there are some rumors going that if your GPU supports anti aliasing it won't look like something made from ....
