[SOLVED] Just installed Mint 14 but it crashed...

Post by hitr87 »

So I am brand new to linux, a friend suggested the Mint distro so I downloaded the image and put it on a USB drive with UNetBootin.I get it to boot from the live USB with no problems and install it along side windows. I created it's partion, created a user, it says it was intalled properly then I rebooted, all is fine up to this point. On the reboot, I get a message about "one of my disks needs to be checked for consitancy" files could have errors on them and it proceeds to check the files... it found no errors but it appears the distro didn't load on the partition. It still shows the Install linux Mint icon, it does not have the user I created, and it doesn't save any files ( checked with just a simple .doc file) Here is a look at what I got, it appears it created way to many partitions but like I said I am a total noob and I am in dire need of asstistance.
