Hi all,
I've been facing with a problem with my LMDE : after a random time, my UI is partially frozen : I can move my mouse, but I am not able to click anywhere.
In the same way, some of my keyboard shortcuts are not working either(for example alt+tab).
Does anyone have the solution for this problem?

Re: Frozen interface
Is this with the Cinnamon or MATE desktop?
I think you have a choice of the two at the login screen.

Re: Frozen interface
This is currently the cinnamon interface. In fact whether I start on Mate on cinnamon, I have to restart Xorg at least once before it can be used. Otherwise my interface seems totally frozen.
I have a Nvidia gtx 560ti, and have successfully installed the drivers for it. Can it still be a driver problem?

Re: Frozen interface
I ask this because I have had problems with Cinnamon in the past.
This is the (very long) post to look at: http://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?t=103054&f=90
And specifically these instructions: http://community.linuxmint.com/tutorial/view/955
Though it may not fit your situation exactly.
Have a read of them and get back if they don't help.

Re: Frozen interface
I'm fairly sure the consensus is that it's graphics card related.
This thread might be relevant as well.
My freezing issue was solved by updating to the latest kernel, but I have an Intel GPU, so it might not be related.
