suddenly, dragging copies files instead of moving them

Postby djungk on Wed Jan 30, 2013 10:35 pm

Hi,
With Mint 13 and Mate (32 bit), suddenly, dragging files from the desktop to any folder copies them instead of moving them. I assume I did something to cause this, but i don't know what. Does anyone know how to set it back to allow files to be moved from the desktop?

thank you for your time,

Don

Linux Mint is funded by ads and donations.

Does the same thing happen when you move files between different folders using the file manager?

No, it only happens going to or from the desktop. But i have found something else. If I hold down the shift key, it moves the files instead of copying them, i.e. exactly the opposite of what one would expect.
