There you see when they are testing the iso's and when they are approved for RC and Final release.
Second, If you just kept LMDE installed and kept it up to date up to now you wouldn't have to complain about installing from a nearly Year old (distro) ISO. Unless you messed up your system or you want to install LMDE on someone elses computer, that of course is another story.
And if you are a distrohopper who loves to try out other distro's then there's always the dual or multi boot way to go.
