How do I enable a GUI for software installed from a tar.gz archive?

If the installed software has a GUI, all you should need to do is run the program.
Find the directory where it's installed and run the program.
It may be installed in the directory you extracted from the tarball, or perhaps in /usr/bin. Depends on the program.
