WOW!!!

Post by gnappi »

I work in a corporate environment that has a very MS oriented infrastructure. Last year I was given an HP 8200 All-In-One PC with windows 7 on it. This State-Of-The-Art machine was now running at 1/3 the speed of my previous HP DC7900 Core 2 PC. I complained multiple times about the performance and it fell on deaf ears. So, today I'm running Mint 14 FROM THE DVD and the performance of the machine is STAGGERINGLY fast. Clearly when I need disk access it takes time but now I'm not waiting 30-40 seconds for actions to start or complete from Win7.

Mint developers, you're brilliant.

Now I need to get permission to install Mint on a back end partition :-)

You can install Mint as a dual boot - you may need to use something like 'Perfect disk free trial' to get a decent size partition.

I still have Vista 'just in case' although I rarely boot in Vista after a month on Mint.

Enjoy!!
