Unmounting during suspend, Mint 14.1

Postby nailed_barnacle on Wed Feb 06, 2013 4:27 pm

Here's an odd one... I have two disks on this laptop; one has a W8 installation of which one directory is mounted as /windows

Code: Select all
# /etc/fstab: static file system information.
# Use 'blkid' to print the universally unique identifier for a
# device; this may be used with UUID= as a more robust way to name devices
# that works even if disks are added and removed. See fstab(5).
# <file system> <mount point>   <type>  <options>       <dump>  <pass>
proc            /proc           proc    nodev,noexec,nosuid 0       0
# / was on /dev/sdb5 during installation
UUID=e7448558-c853-4245-a181-9e19572633cb /               ext4    errors=remount-ro 0       1
# /boot/efi was on /dev/sda2 during installation
UUID=CEA9-D11B  /boot/efi       vfat    defaults        0       1
# /home was on /dev/sdb6 during installation
UUID=cb083083-b294-4fa5-92f2-cf22cebfe311 /home           ext4    defaults        0       2
# /windows was on /dev/sda4 during installation
UUID=0624ABE424ABD4C9 /windows        ntfs    defaults,umask=007,gid=46 0       0
# swap was on /dev/sdb2 during installation
UUID=232a6f17-aad2-43c6-a55e-6b84c0f78eb6 none            swap    sw              0       0

During sleep, /windows disappears from sight and is no longer displayed either by ls or with the file manager.

Code: Select all
sudo umount /windows
sudo mount -a

is required to restore things to visibility.

I'm a little confused as to why this should be - any suggestions?
