In Cinnamon 1.4 and Mint 12, I was sure that the desktop font was changeable in the Cinnamon settings font dialog. In Maya, it doesn't seem to work. I had to install dconf-tools and edit the nautilus desktop font settings there. Was I dreaming that I was able to change it in Cinnamon/Lisa?
Thanks.

Re: Desktop Font
I don't see it. Default, Document, Monospace, and Window title font are all the fonts that you can configure on LM12/Cinnamon 1.4 in the Cinnamon Settings > Fonts.

Re: Desktop Font
For some reason, I thought that changing the default font affected the desktop font as well in LM12/Cinnamon. Oh well, not a problem. Thank goodness for dconf-editor!
I see that you are from my parents' homeland. Thanks for your help!

Re: Desktop Font
I noted you have a suspiciously Dutch sounding last name Can you perhaps share the steps for changing in dconf? May be useful to others.
Re: Desktop Font
Go to synaptic and install dconf-tools.
Then, go to your main menu and open dconf-editor, and navigate to org/gnome/nautilus/desktop. There you'll see the "font" item. Click it and type the name of the font you want for your desktop icons:

Re: Desktop Font
Thanks for the info. Works in Mint 14 too - just substitute nemo for nautilus

Re: Desktop Font
[rimg]Font area not in bold print. Will not change. Little box pops up in right bottom corner, I typed the name, no joy. The screen shot does not show the box because it disappears as soo as you click the menu to take it.
