the linux mint debian mirrors are slow at this point i wish i could see a Linux mint debian USA mirror but i am using a mirror in Canada: deb http://mirror.csclub.uwaterloo.ca/linuxmint-packages/ debian main upstream import the download speed drops and it takes more up to five hours when downloading a lot of packages including dependencies as well what should i do about that?

Go to your Software Sources, select Download from = Other, click Select Best Server. See what comes up. Use that for some time, until the connectivity issues "resolve themselves". :roll:

To get the fastest repo mirror in LMDE you have to make sure that the package mint-debian-mirrors is installed.

Then you have to run the following in the terminal:

Code: Select all

mint-choose-debian-mirror
This will show you the various mirrors with their speed starting with the fastest from the top if i remember correct. Select that one and you should be good to go.
