Why Can't I mount devices? solved

Post by WinCrasher »

When I first installed LM 13 MATE on my Toshiba Satellite laptop, I could plug in my camera and an Icon would appear on the desktop. I could right click and open with G Thumb, select the new pics and download. I would usually have to select less than 10 photos at a time or it wouldn't work. Cumbersome, but at least I could get photos to HD. Now I can't even do that. And if I plug in a card reader it tells me I am "Not Authorized".

I am the only user on this machine. I am the root Admin on this machine. I have every box checked under User settings>advanced User settings on this machine.

So why can't I Download my pics? This should be easy. I have never been able to watch a DVD on this machine. I don't know why. That should also be easy. I am not a programmer. I am a user. Why can't I use my computer?

Are you getting an error message or just nothing? Have you googled your problem? That's how I solve all my queries.

This may work,I'm unsure but it can't hurt.

Code: Select all

sudo users-admin

wait a moment (window maybe grey initially)

click you account

Advanced settings -> User Privileges -> Tick check box: Mount user-space filesystems (FUSE)
