I am intermediate when it comes to technical stuff, so be patient if I get something screw ball.

The default b43legacy drivers did not work for me, I did however find a package that worked here. Injection tests failed for my card, I found a kernel patch to make it work here.

I am willing to patch the kernel myself if I could get the source.

Moved here, as I think you just want help getting your wireless working...

If you want to download the source code of the kernel to compile your own, first follow the steps in this post to enable the Ubuntu source code repositories on your system: http://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.p ... 39#p626867

The Ubuntu Wiki has some pages describing how to download the kernel source code with apt-get, which is possible after enabling the above, and then how to compile it: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Kernel/BuildYourOwnKernel

Seems somebody else already made the firmware, at least for Linux Mint 13: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2109390.
