Have just downloaded Mint 14 (32 bit Cinnamon) and installed it from the DVD OK onto my Win XP laptop and everything just works.
However, when doing the same instal on my Win XP desktop it installs but on re-boot does not see the USB - so no mouse or keyboard to pick which OS to boot to.
It then just coundowns to Min XP and loads that.

Re: Mint 14 not seeing USB
Were (or are) the USB ports on your desktop computer recognized during a Live session of Mint?
What is the output of the terminal command lsusb?

Re: Mint 14 not seeing USB
What was the fix to the bios? I've got a vaguely similar, USB-related problem - when my keyboard and mouse are hooked to a hub one or both are non-functional for some time after the system boots up - and haven't found any solutions so far.
