After the last UPGRADE gufw ICON DiSAPPEARED(SOLVED!!)

Post by lmx »

Hi Guys...

Only to report a bug...and try to solve it...

One of the best thing of MATE and Gnome2 are the Control Center...

Like you know it have the Grafical Front End for ufw(Uncomplicated firewall) that ships with Debian...

After the last Upgrade it disappeared...well...its impossible to add him again to control Center!!?

I have edited the menu entries and added him to Administration Entry...but it doesn't appeared in Control Center any more !!

So, we are obligated to use the items in menu(Administration and Preferences), instead of the Gorgeous Ĉontrol Center...but we have to add an entry for gufw...

This problem happened to me in 3 machines until now, so I SUPPOSE that it is general to everybody?!

Does any body knows how to put again, GUFW entry, in Control Center of MATE??

Thanks in Advance.

Gufw isn't shown as the package comes from the Ubuntu repository, and has been configured to only shown on the Unity desktop. You can reconfigure that with one simple command (you can copy text to the terminal, see its Edit menu):

Code: Select all

sudo sed -i '/^OnlyShowIn=Unity;$/d' /usr/share/applications/gufw.desktop
On Linux Mint 14 at least, this makes Gufw reappear
