Support for Creative Sound Blaster Digital Music SX (USB)

Post by Mulhatton »

Hi all
I'm running a Lenovo 3000 n200.
The built-in sound card works fine and as expected :D , BUT I'm a part-time wedding DJ and for that I use a Creative Sound Blaster Digital Music SX (the USB one, silver shiny metal casing, with a black face and two silver knobs).
On this C.S.B.D.M.SX USB sound card the sounds like a very bad mp3 file on the right speaker. Left speaker output is dead. There is also quite a digital type noise coming out of it. :?
I've tested the sound card on other computers (running MS what-ever version), and it's fine.
The PC was running MS Windows Vista Basic, and the USB sound card used to work on there.

When I installed Linux Mint Nadia, the sound card and my USB 1TB WD Elements drive were plugged in.
The WD driver works fine. Everything runs fine, except the external USB sound card. (And it's got much better sound quality than the built-in soundcard)

I really would like to know how to get the C.S.B.D.M.SX USB sound card working?
Thx!!
