Google Drive is just like Dropbox or Ubuntu One, a cloud storage service. When you have a Gmail account, you have Google Drive too. You can access it by any webbrowser, so there's not really a big need for a Google Drive client. And you can access your documents anywhere on this planet if you access to the internet.
I haven't encountered any problems. I just edit/create files/documents and later on upload them using Firefox.
