It looks like it, it comes close to it, but it isn't not 100% exactly the same.

Anyhow, i'll try that conky lay-out you provided.

the conky you found has some mods (but the basic lay-out is based upon this http://mmesantos1.deviantart.com/art/Go ... -321918251)
- the font is different;
- colors are different;
- has an $hr to draw that line between the 2 parts;
- instead of arch has uptime: replace ${machine} with ${uptime}

conky is about customization, i stopped doing conky because is way too addictive and takes hours and hours from you

Okay.. it's being customized then. I'll keep it standard.

I've followed the instructions as given on this link: http://mmesantos1.deviantart.com/art/Go ... -321918251

Alt+F2 no result
starting conky in a terminal gives me this:
Conky: use_spacer should have an argument of left, right, or none. 'yes' seems to be some form of 'true', so defaulting to right.
Conky: desktop window (e00029) is subwindow of root window (265)
Conky: window type - override
Conky: drawing to created window (0x2a00001)
Conky: drawing to double buffer

And that's it!
What seems the problem here?

You can fix the first error by changing line 28 to "use_spacer right" or "use_spacer left". The rest isn't a problem at all. It's simply the program outputting some "debug" info. Unless you've got a problem it can be safely ignored.

Edit:
From the command line you should be able to run conky as a daemon with conky -d. From there you can close the terminal and it'll stay around. :-)
“Gosh, you've... really got some nice toys here.”
