wget http://media.steampowered.com/client/installer/steam.deb
sudo apt-get install gdebi-core
sudo gdebi steam.deb

Is Steam going to make it to Software Centre for Mint Maya?

Steam has a proper repo, and their .deb file does the correct fiddly fiddling to have apt manage upgrades. You'll be just fine installing it.fig_wright wrote:Thanks, but I really want to install Steam via Software centre rather than by fiddly .deb files because then the update management of it will be taken care of without me fiddling again.
