Second attempt is a charm

Post by fish1552 »

Hey everyone, just joined up after getting LM installed and working on an old laptop. I had been wanting to run a Linux distro for a while and the first attempt about 2 years ago was bad when I got Ubuntu 10? installed but couldn't get the machine online. I tried again yesterday with Ubuntu 12.10, but kept getting a an error screen and after 3 times, I found Mint recommnded on another site.

First attempt at an install, and it worked perfectly. So far, with about 12 hours playing on it, I like what I see. Terminal isn't 100% new to me as I've had to use it with Android, but it's going to take a while to get comfortable. Cinnamon sure does help make it feel more comfortable.

Hoping to learn more and enjoy myself.

Welcome aboard :D Hope you continue to enjoy Linux Mint, and have some fun with it! If you want to get a little more comfortable on the command line, the introduction to the command line may be worth a read: http://en.flossmanuals.net/command-line/
