Hello my name is Brick and i have been playing around with Linux on and off over the past decade or so but never really dug into the guts of the system. At my current job i'm an actuary who lives a double life as a power user in an IBM mainframe setting as means to mainly interact with a Teradata system. I'm looking forward to getting to learn about and hopefully break/fix a lot things in the process while getting more involved in the open source community.

Re: Hello my name is Brick:
Brick, your post reminded me of a friend of mine from childhood who we called "Rock" -- as in "Rock Head."
Great guy, and one of the coolest cats I ever knew. That goes back a lot of years, and I haven't seen Rock in a long time. We're all in our 50s now, but the last time I was back in that area, everybody was calling him by his real name: Darrold.
Anyway, welcome to the forums!
