Reformatting hard drives
I just installed linux mint and i have 3 hard drives i can see the other 2 but i cant edit the files in them. so how can i reformat to be able to use them?

First of all do you really want to reformat? You do know that doing this will erase all the files on those 2 drives? Then you certainly won't be able to edit them
If you really do want to reformat, you just start up the menu entry called gparted, change to the drive you want to format from the box at the top right, right click on any partitions and select unmount then right click on the partitions again and select 'Format to' and choose whatever file system you want them to have. Then click the 'tick' icon in the top menu bar to apply the changes.
