VIA VT1720/24 sound card problems

Postby Glenn3K on Sun Feb 24, 2013 5:10 am

Hi!

I just changed sound card (my old one did break down) to a cheap VIA VT1720/24 from a manufacturer called "DeLock" or something.

Using Mint 14 Cinnamon x86, and my speaker setup is 2.0 stereo.

I only get sound in one channel. And on top of that, that channel seems to be L/R swapped. Also, sometimes, I dont get sound at all, or I get sound in one channel but it seems to skip the low frequency/bass sounds.

The problems are the same when using 2.0 speakers, 2.1 speakers, or 2.0 headphones. Everything is of course connected properly.

Also, things work just fine if I boot Win7 instead of Mint 14 on the same machine.

Thankful for all feedback.
