I am expecting a different behavior in Linux Mint 13 and Linux Mint 14 in VMware Workstation.
Because of a bug with VMware with my graphic card (AMD Radeon), I must have the "Accelerate 3D graphics" option disabled and this is the reason of the different behavior.
I have two different VMs, one with LM13 x32 and other with LM 14 x32, both with Cinnamon.
On LM 14, cinnamon is working fine with the same layout as if it was installed in a physical machine. Cinammon version is 1.6.7
On my LM13, since I don´t have the 3D enabled, it always start with a kind of "failover" as you can see in the picture. I thought it could be because Cinammon version is older (1.4.x if I am not wrong) but I already migrated to version .6.7 (the same as LM 14) and the problem stays the same. However, is if I start with the 3D option, the Cinammon layout is the same as LM 14 but the background gets flashy (turn to white then shows the correct background picture) when I am navigate in the sub menus of the main menu ... again, this does not happen with LM 14.

Why do I have this different behavior?
My host machine is a Windows 7 64 bits
