LM 14.1 KDE?

Post by Hypersphere »

Linux Mint 14.1 has been released for Cinnamon and MATE, but apparently not for KDE and Xfce. Will there be a 14.1 release for KDE and Xfce?

I am particularly interested because I understand that 14.1 has a fix for (U)EFI issues, although my preference would be to get LM13 working so that I would have LTS. I have tried to no avail to install LM13 and LM14 on an IBM x3400 m3. I was also unable to install Ubuntu 12.04 or 12.04.2, but finally able to install Ubuntu Server 12.04.2 and then install Ubuntu desktop and Gnome-panel, but installation of KDE caused crashes. The ideal would be to have the (U)EFI fixes backported to LM 13 LTS. Thanks.

No, you misunderstand. Linux Mint 14 Cinnamon and MATE ISOs were released, but were found to have a few problems that warranted the release of a new ISO. Hence the release of 14.1 as detailed here: http://blog.linuxmint.com/?p=2234. Linux Mint 14 KDE was released later, and already includes those fixes so didn't need to get a new release: http://blog.linuxmint.com/?p=2271.

Thanks, Xenopeek! Glad to know that there was no need for a bug fix version of LM 14 KDE. However, I wonder if it might have helped avoid potential confusion to have renumbered all releases that contained the fixes to the same number; this would make for consistency as well.
