I'm afraid to update my computer. everything works fine until i run update manager. ran fsck and that didn't fix system after initial update after install. It said x had crashed.
I was with ubuntu since version 5 and just migrated to Mint. I love it. Everything works again from the install cd.
I don't know what to do?
Thank you for your help. Johnny

Have you tried changing your video driver, since it is X which crashed?
Do you get to a terminal login, or does it just stop? When you run the recovery version from GRUB, what happens? Also, what desktop version and processor version are you attempting to run?
In Mint Update manager, are you only installing the higher priority updates, or letting ALL updates occur?
