Re: Libre Office 4 - How to Upgrade
Purge all Libre Office 3.6.x (command line or synaptic including some "autoremovable" files after the process). Download from libreoffice site the whole package + the help package (deb for *buntu, mint or debian flavours). Unzip, untar go inside the folder with deb packages and give the command:
Do the same in all folders you have deb packages. Libre Office will be installed in /opt/libreoffice. Maybe you will have to make some simlinks from /opt/libreoffice/programs/swriter (and all the others programs scalc, sdraw, simpress, etc) to /usr/bin
There is a problem: sometimes, when you install packages that are connected to libreoffice you may go into a conflict (synaptic will try to install libreoffice from repos). Don't know exctly how to resolve that problem. Usually I gave up to install the program that ask for libreoffice from repo. I also presume that there are ppa repos with the last libreoffice.
Code: Select all
sudo dpkg -i *.deb

Thanx 4 reply.
Can LO4 will appear in SoftwareManager, or can be installed by update manager?

Re: Libre Office 4 - How to Upgrade
If you download from their site, the update won't appear in Software Manager and is not possible to install by update manager.
