A 60-page report, conducted by information security company Mandiant, pinpoints the source of many of the recent hacking attacks from China on U.S. companies, government officials, and journalists as originating from a Chinese military building in Shanghai.

On a Dutch newssite you can read the comment of the Chinese government: "It wasn't us!".

Who is blowing smoke? One or both you can bet we will never know.
If you don't like it, make something better
If you can't make something better, adapt
If you can't do either ball your panties up and cry

Making a fool of yourself is like masticating.
Most anyone can do it but performing it in public is real hardcore.

Did see the story: saw the USA news conference on cnn, I think.

It shouldn't be much of a surprise, its exactly what Western countries did (with older technology of course) when they started their industrial revolution
If you don't develop it, steal it

History indicates America stole Britain's textile technology to start their own system..

On a personal basis it's what is said of every fortune ever made: it started with a crime (lie or theft/swindle, claim jumping comes to mind during the various gold rushes.) for example

Good points But it isn't Theft! It's Innovation! :?

But yep really sad and seems a universal principle of the species.
And sad we have to teach and explain why to our youngsters while they are growing up.

... Mandiant Sells security software to the US gov. If you think that the Chinese are dumb enough to operate hacking from a Military establishment, then you shouldn't be allowed out unsupervised.
They are plenty smart, they develope their own as well as use other peoples technology, and they have the ability to be as sneaky or as open as any other high tech country. Remember ... who has lied to you more, the US gov or the Chinese gov???

"then you shouldn't be allowed out unsupervised."

Need to belittle peoples opinions? You can't disagree with others without talking down to them? Really?

And since I live in the U.S. of course the U.S. Government lies to me. That doesn't negate China's involvement in espionage or that their somehow superior to everyone else in the world and can out think and out hide other smart people no matter their nationality?

Or that somehow China's motivations are more pure and innocent? As they can lie just as much if not more including violate their peoples and others rights just as despicably as the U.S. ?

No problem just confronting someone about their etiquette & manners.
And disagreeing with his assessment is all. No smoke coming out of the ears here :P
