Empty Desktop on boot

Hello everybody,

New mint user here and I have a little problem.
On every boot, after logging in, the mouse cursor appears and I can move it and I can see the desktop background but that's it.
Doing Ctrl+al+F1 and

sudo service mdm restart
allow me to log in once again and this time to a properly working desktop, any ideas on how to solve this ?

It is a bug still fixed...

Hi, I am getting this problem also. When i first install the OS the desktop was there and it only disappeared after running updates. How did you fix this?

my video card is radeon hd 5450 with proprietary drivers 13.2 beta
