Have you tried running Chrome or Firefox with Wine yet? That's how I used to do instant streaming on my laptop. I can give it another go and see if I run into any problems. If not, I'll walk you through the steps to reproduce.

Have you tried this?
sudo apt-add-repository ppa:ehoover/compholio

sudo apt-get update

sudo apt-get install netflix-desktop

Edit: Be sure the system is fully updated and that ttf-mscorefonts is installed beforehand.
It might work on LMDE. I haven't had luck with Mint 14 Cinnamon or Lubuntu or Voyager or Netrunner, the problem being the same on all, that the screensaver keeps kicking off whether disabled or not. I figure in time it will be worked out. In the meantime, Netflix does stream without issues on SolusOs 1.3 and Elementary Luna Beta if you wanted to test those out.

Have you tried this: http://crunchbang.org/forums/viewtopic.php?id=23958? I have this working on all of my Debian installs. It has a step that's required for licensing handling on Debian. You need multiarch enabled if you have LMDE 64-bit.

I'm thinking that the repository was removed or something... I had installed it some time ago, but within the last month and a half or so, the repository was unavailable for updates.

Netflix may have blocked it?
Try politeness; people will like you for it.

Install close to 500MB worth of garbage just to watch Netflix?? I don't get why Netflix won't support Linux. They support Android, which is also open source and Linux-based...

Hi All, i have had some problems with my hardware lately, not related to Linux mint, bad power supply and battery...my conclusion on this is that it is not "just" to have it to work in Debian.. :D - lets hope that Netflix will come up with a solution to a awesom platform... :)
I have tryed it "netflix" in Ubuntu, and there it is working, so when i need to streammovies i use Ubuntu.. :?:

There is a workaround for netflix using wine: http://www.compholio.com/netflix-desktop/
Its primarily for ubuntu but works on debian as well. To install it on debian theres an extra step needed to circumvent this bug
https://bugs.launchpad.net/netflix-desktop/+bug/1089976

Here are some installation instructions for debian: http://www.skybert.net/debian/netflix-o ... ezy-64bit/
