mint14 - Mate problem installing motherboard GA-A55M-DS2

I have been trying to install a Linux distribution on a computer with the Gigabyte GA-A55M-DS2 and Linux installation screens do not show (blank screen). I have had this problem with Ubuntu, SuSE and now Mint-14 Mate. The only one that did not have problems was CentOS (which I do not like). The initial screens (logo, etc.) are fine, it is when you reach the first installation screen when the display goes blank.

Any ideas?

That motherboard has the infamous Gigabyte Hybrid efi firmware making installation of Linux extremely difficult. Our resident Uefi expert - srs5694 - has written a lot about this bios I suggest looking through all his posts on the topic search.php?keywords=hybrid+bios&terms=all&author=srs5694&sc=1&sf=all&sr=posts&sk=t&sd=d&st=0&ch=300&t=0&submit=Search He has also got entire websites about the probelm.
