Mint 14 Wake on lan not working after update

Postby crzfire on Tue Mar 05, 2013 12:23 pm

Wake on lan was previously working before the update that i did yesterday. After the update I can not get the machine to wake from any state. I followed this tutorial initially http://wiki.xbmc.org/index.php?title=How-to:Set_up_Wake-On-Lan_(Ubuntu) and it was working fine up until yesterday. I verified my BIOS settings and here is the output from ethtool

black bin # sudo ethtool eth0
Settings for eth0:
Supported ports: [ TP ]
Supported link modes: 10baseT/Half 10baseT/Full
100baseT/Half 100baseT/Full
1000baseT/Half 1000baseT/Full
Supported pause frame use: No
Supports auto-negotiation: Yes
Advertised link modes: 10baseT/Half 10baseT/Full
100baseT/Half 100baseT/Full
1000baseT/Half 1000baseT/Full
Advertised pause frame use: No
Advertised auto-negotiation: No
Speed: 1000Mb/s
Duplex: Full
Port: Twisted Pair
PHYAD: 0
Transceiver: internal
Auto-negotiation: on

Wake-on: g
Current message level: 0x000000ff (255)
drv probe link timer ifdown ifup rx_err tx_err
Link detected: yes

I checked that the machine is getting a data packet when trying to wake it and I do see traffic to the port when sending the magic packet. Is anyone else seeing the same thing and is there anything else i should check?

Thanks
