I just replaced my Nvidia GTS 250 with a Radeon HD 7770 and now when I boot after grub the screen eventually turns off. I know its still running because number lock still works. I assume it has something to do with not having a driver or something. Any suggestions? Or maybe there is a way I can edit the boot options to use a standard driver until I can install the proper one? Thanks.

If you press crtl, alt + F1 together, this should bring you up a new text based login screen.
Log in with this and then sort out your driver problems with apt-get.
This might help, there are quite a few steps though.

I tried that. The screen came on but was just black. However after a few restarts it came back :/. Thanks for the help though. Just kinda solved itself xD.
