I am not sure if this is just a stupid thing to post but the Lexmark S315 Ubuntu 12.04 drivers just printed me a test page in Mint 14, and I assume they will work fully. Of course Lexmark does not want to support me to do so. I figured the drivers would work becuase Ubuntu 12.10 worked with them as well. You need to get the lexmark-PPD-Files-LMADE-1.0-1.amd( I have the 64 bit)deb and the lexmark-printer-utility-1.0-1.amd(64 bit again)deb .Choose the (without JRE) driver. I used Qapt deb package installer from Software Manager to install the drivers. Just type Qapt in search to find it. Once you go to Lexmark.com and download the drivers set up your printer with the configuration tool and let the driver be found it will say S310(recommended). It will set up and you can print a test page that will say Ubuntu on the top of the page.
I am happy with this bit of Moraccan Mint Tea flavor of Ubuntu now. The only problem I was having is that the drivers page on Lexmark.com didn't want to load for a couple of days you have to be a bit paitient but you should be able to get them at some point from yes Lexmark.com. Also I heard Lexmark lost a big law suit in their home country and they will not be making inkjets like the S315 in the near future so be looking out for 150XL ink to be going on sale. May be an after market producer, I don't know. A ink refill tech at a store told me this and maybe she is correct. I am not totally sure but she recommended a brother printer that has gone to a user friendly business model. So Lexmark I hear will not be making ink and you will need a new printer at some point unless there is an after market producer for the 150XL cartridges. I mean the lady at the ink refill store did not sell printers so she was not selling me, right? Talking on. Enjoy printing.
